This type of bamboo fence comes in an assortment of heights of up to eight feet tall, and can be installed onto wooden posts or on top of your existing fence including chain link fences.
- Bamboo stick fences makes use of 1/2″ bamboo slats instead of traditional bamboo poles. The use of slats instead of poles opens you up to rotting and weathering however, so you will want to treat the slats with a weather sealer to prevent this from happening.
- Bamboo twig fences are made with the small twigs you get from mature bamboo trees, all interwoven and tied together with galvanized steel wiring. This style of bamboo fencing is a little more open than others, but won’t stand up to weathering and other elements for very long. It’s ideal for a temporary tropical look you might be searching for, say for your tropical themed party one night.
While bamboo fences gives you great way to use sustainable, eco-friendly materials, and is beautiful in itself, you can boost its structural integrity by building a cedar frame around it to include the posts, cross bars and top rails. This will also help make it a more permanent fencing option. So if you’re tired of looking at that old chain link fence, dress it up with bamboo and start enjoying your tropical atmosphere.
