Wrought Iron Fences

Wrought iron fences are a sophisticated fencing solution. It isn’t exactly the cheapest route to go and unfortunately there’s very little you can do to counteract this.   But if you do want to go this route,  the advantages of fences made from wrought iron fencing exists. For starters, you don’t have to maintain it as often as some other fencing options like wood fencing, and has a longer life span.

Wrought iron fences work well as a security measure for your yard.  It’s almost impossible to get through it, and with those pointy caps, it is a sure deterrent to try to scale.  A determined  intruder will still try to get in , but will most likely move onto the next property that is a lot easier.

Wrought iron isn’t very private, but typical installations are done far away from your home .  This helps with security, as well as accentuates the ornamental beauty of the fence design.  Many home owners also opt to have concrete or brick pillars installed along with the wrought iron. This truly lends itself to a very distinguished and classy look.

These fences are custom made to order. The installation process is very complex, and should only be installed by professional fencing contractors who specialize in wrought iron fence making and installation.   Consulting with one or a few of these experts, will help you come up with the right fence design to suite your personal style and needs.

If you had your wrought iron fence galvanized, it will help prevent rusting.  Some home owners like the effect that rust can produce.  It gives it in a strange way, an old classy look synonymous with old and aged mansions and castles.  Some people like it and some don’t.  You decide as you embark upon your new project.  Painting your wrought iron fence is also an option, but most home owners prefer to leave it in its natural state and allow oxidation to take place naturally over time.  This is what gives it that green appearance you see so often on fences made from wrought iron.
